Advertising an event online?

Hi All,

Does anyone know of any good websites to advertise events?

It all depends on the event I guess. If it's a somewhat niche event then you want to be looking for sites that are already dealing with the subject of the event and see if you can get an ad or a mention.

For general purposes I use http://www.dublinevents.com when I'm looking for something to do but that only works if you have a broad appeal.

I found the facebook ads quite handy as you can modify them to really focus on your target market.

I'm getting a small but useful number of click-thrus for an event that I'm currently advertising on FB. But I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't target by keyword. I could only target by specific categories or pages that others have liked.

Did you find any good way around this limitation?

Really does depend on the area that you are going for...Boards is naturally a good one!

Not that I recall. It's been a while since I did one but should be doing one in the next little while and I'll have a good poke at the system.

I've got 6 weeks to my event so have started listing on Press Release and Event sites.
