    Looking for a laptop for work/family - Will not be used for gaming, just mainly for spread sheets, college work, email & web.

    Can anyone offer an opinion on this spec on sale in Aldi next sunday

    The e-sata and HDMI are big plusses here.

    Perfectly adequete for the needs you listed. The intergrated gpu is able to for HD playback and even very light gaming of old games such as Sims 3. I was impressed with the screen quality and decent sound output...quite good for movies.

    However it really is a desktop replacement: big, heavy, poorish cooling, average battery ~3hrs.

    Do not expect to comfotably bring it to college/work etc.

    Dont forget aldi offer a 3year warrenty.

    17 inch screen is a big point there...

    Feeling it might be a bit over spec for my needs and will keep my eyes open for something slightly lower spec and hopefully cheaper
