This will be like watching autopsy pics for Ciderman :P Damn I want a VB badly :(

I'd never take it apart though, and the example they have in the link looks pristine too! Heavy levels of want.

Wow, I get nervous just taking mine out of its box! Fragile little thing. The oscillating mirror set-up is why I really love the VB, being a physics-nerd and all that :p

That's it, I'm never lending Kerbdog my Virtual Boy, he can have his Nomad back!
A pretty spectacular piece of engineering though, my little VB, quite amazing the solutions that Ninty came up with to produce real 3D imagery 15 odd years before the rest of gaming caught up (I know that older systems had variants, the Vectrex for example, but nothing as impressive as the VB).
It's hardly surprising then that it's Nintendo that are leading the way with an innovative 3D solution while the "big boys" are fiddling around with high end displays and expensive glasses.

I wonder if it's too early to ring Nintendo and ask for a VB game compilation for the 3DS?
    Hmmm.....

    Hmmm.....

That's actually a very good point. I wonder if the 3DS' screen will lend itself to VB type perception..hmm

    I emailed them!
    And got a reply...
They said it would be cool, that they still play a spot of Galactic Pinball, but unfortunately they cannot pass on the idea as it is against the rules, rules about unsolicited game ideas.
Probably to stop me suing for a share of the profits after such a compilation sells billions of copies!!!

Ciderman has an email of Nintendo telling him his idea would be cool...that's a hardcopy & lamination job man.

That's pretty cool man! One to frame alright.

Although, then again, I hope you haven't just ruined the chance of this ever happening now because they don't want to give you royalties :P

Now to email Nintendo about my other game idea, Its about a guy who is a Clinical Nurse Manager by day, retrogaming crime fighter by night, I think it'd work best as a sideways scrolling beat'em up (love them!) and all I need is a name....
Answers on a postcard to the usual address!
