    Hi all.

My friend and I are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this october to raise much needed funds for Barnardo's Children's Charity so we are holding this charity gig in a bid to raise some funds.

The gig takes place in The Spirit Store in Dundalk, Co. Louth on thursday September 9th 2010. Doors open @ 8:30pm. On the night we will be holding a Raffle and a delicious BBQ. There will be an €8 cover charge.

There will be music by Township Rebellion - Ireland's no.1 tribute to Rage Against the Machine. They will be supported by Celsey McFaddan, Damien Kelly & Jimmy Brennan.

A huge thank you to the bands for donating there services :D

Below is just a brief description of Barnardo's and what they do, followed by a piece on Township Rebellion.

    All are welcome :D

    *************

Barnardos has over 40 Barnardos Centres around the country located at the heart of communities.

Barnardos work with families to improve parenting skills and tackle issues of poverty, domestic abuse, addiction and the impact these problems have on children.

Barnardo's currently works with over 5,000 children but there are 76,000 living in poverty in Ireland so we need help to keep working with the children but also reaching out to other children living in poverty.

Formed in 2008, Township Rebellion have quickly become the country's no.1 Rage Against The Machine tribute act. Receiving top reviews from local presses, their shows are abundant with the energy you would expect at a Rage Against The Machine concert.

Fronted by local actor and political activist Matt O'Brien and backed by Ireland's answer to Tom Morello, John Woods on guitar. The band is completed bY bassist Ciaran O'Grady and percussionists Paul Caldwell and Rob Matthews.

Township Rebellion played their first gig in NUI Maynooth in front of a huge audience and since then have been a regular band in all the major college towns accross Ireland. Their biggest gig to date came in 2010 as they headlined the hugely successful Ceol for Kayley Music Festival in Gormaglough, Co. Meath in front of over 1000 people.
