    Hi gang,

It's my birthday and as such I am having a party tomorrow...BUT i have two big red marks on my chin at the moment that are each about the size of a small fingernail. They look like burns or grazes now (yes...because I kept attacking them!)

Just foundation isn't covering them....so any advice on a good concealer? I have very pale skin and usually find concealer look really bad on mr.

    Any help appreciated,
    Bootz

MAC Studio Fix is pretty good. Studio Sculpt is okay as well. The Rimmel Hide the Blemish is ok tho I have not used it in years.

I use the Clinique Anti-Blemish concealer. I have it in Both Shade 01 and Corrective Green.

The Corrective Green will help to reduce redness and the shade 01 (you might need shade 02, depending on your complexion) will help to cover it (don't use both concealers at once though lol).

    Edit:

I've also seen recommendations on Boards for a Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, but which concealer I don't know as there are two of them lol.

    Creamy Concealer Kit
    Creamy Concealer

Thanks guys...I'll give those a look! I'm such a make-up junkie but never bothered with concealer before.

I swear by Bobbi Brown concealer. I have used MAC but didn't find it as good as the BB one. If you bring in a pot they may give you a sample. I use 'Light Bisque' or 'Porcelain' and sometimes, I wish I could cover all my face with it, it gives such great cover from blemishes, spots, uneven tone!!

Which one do you use? I got the one in the pot with the powder undearneath, think it was about €35 (!!) and it doesn't really conceal the circles under my eyes, maybe they're uncoverable :(

Just rummaging through my make up bag now, coincidently, I bought new foundation today (Bobbi Brown's moisture rich one as London has sapped the life out of my skin sadly) and got the same corrector and concealer; okay the corrector is Light Bisque and the Concealer is Porcelain; together they work well, but I haven't used the powder as that case was too expensive!

I don't have that one, but with the MAC studio fix (or anything I've used really, obv studio sculpt is too gluey in texture for that area) I need to mix in a bit of Touche Eclat (or the Clarins version which I prefer) to cover the circles under my eyes. It helps to lift them a bit so they don't look so sunken. Most concealers are about toning down a bright colour (red/pink spots) than lifting a dark colour... touche eclat on it's own is not good enough to conceal the darkness but the lift it gives is great

I find it does work on the circles (the one with the powder pot) but the best one for under eyes I find is cliniqute under eye one!!!

I think the bobby brown one is savage at covering spots ( :( I still get them at 26)!!!

Happy birthday and hope its a (non)memorable one :D

Ooer I don't think I could afford two, the girl recommended both a corrector and concealer but I couldn't be bothered, I'd prefer one to do the job. And my purse was well and truly emptied after forking out €70 for foundation and concealer. Is there much of a price difference in the UK? As I'll be able to avail of it from next week onward :P

Oh no is city living really that cruel to your skin? :( I love bobbi brown foundations though. I tried illamasqua and while its good I don't think its value for money, I hate the squeezey dispenser!

I have really bad dark circles and find that a yellow tone like Benefit Lemon aid to cover the dark purpley colour and the a concealer over it like the bobbi brown creamy concealor and set with powder works well for me. It is a lot to do with your skin tone what concealers work. Might be worth trying a few in store and see what works for you. Always try on your face but if you can't I test on the blue veins on my wrist and see what covers them best! :D

If you suffer with bags then a lighter concealer at the peak of the bag and a slightly darker one just underneath it helps. Same princple for blemishes! :D

Would the Bobbi Brown Concealer completely cover spots?

As in, make it seem as though I have no spots?

Bourjois healthy mix concealer is amazing! They really do cater for pale people in terms of shades. The concealer is a liquid but it still gives amaxing coverage and doesn't dry onto the spot and look cakey like the stick ones do. And it's really cheap and you can buy it at boots etc

Undereye wise, I don't find the concealer and corrector on their own effective but together, I genuinely do. Pricey yes, but they last me ages.
I bought mine in the department store John Lewis at the BB counter, and the prices were: Foundation: 26 pounds, and the concealer 16.50. I did balk a bit but I expecting them to be cheaper, because it came to the equivalent of 50 yo yos...

I have definitely noticed a change in my skin since moving, but as was suggested by the girl in the shop, stress, london air and the fact the water is very hard in the city, are all contributers..

Purple Bobbin, I find it does cover spots very well.

I'd suggest going in and getting a sample!

Is the concealer a pen or pot?
My bobbi brown foundation lasted about 2-3 months and thats when I was wearing it everyday!

I paid €70, €70 for concealer and foundation in BTs. Bloody hell that emptied my purse for a while...

Jesus that's mental. I have to say i find the foundation lasts me forever, especially using the pump. Actually, now I think of it, it's exactly three months since I bought the last one, and have worn it everyday, and sometimes reapplying it in the evening for going out.

The concealer is in a little pot, identical to the corrector. It's lasted me well over the three months..

The one i got had powder underneath which I found to be pretty pointless as it was tricky to use and then I hardly used it after that.

I bought Illamasqua for a change and as it was cheaper for the same ml but upon opening the box at home its a plastic bottle with a squeezy dispenser which means it'll get used up quicker as you're going to squeeze it more often to get a decent amount out and the consistency is quite odd so something a watery substance comes out - you have to shake the hell out of it to get a decent consistency. I guess it'll be back to Bobbi after this (I was put off for a while after encountering the snotty attitude of the staff on their counter in BT, my money is as good as anyone elses madam.)

    True true.

Yeah they always try flog the concealer/loose powder combo, but I know in my heart of hearts i have no notion of using it, so I stick with the concealer on it's own.

Never tried Illamasqua, must give it a shot.

I have the concealer/loose powder combo and it is the most irritating packaging design known to man:mad:. Mind you I find the corrector impossible to open most of the time too. Great products tho it must be said; well worth the cash IMO:)

I find Benefit's 'Boi-ing' really good - it's apparenty just suppoed to be for around eyes, but I find it great for any kind of marks- it's very thick and gives great coverage. And at 20something euros it's not too bad at all!

I bought Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage in BT's a while ago and I never looked back. Granted it took a big chunk out my paycheck (€37!), it works amazing. Its a two tone system. I blend the two colours together on the back of my hand. Then I use a concealer brush, dab it on and put some powder on and sorted :D

Don't get suckered in when those pushy beauty staff people tell you ye have to get the LM concealer brush.. or else. Seriously. As if its as life and death as they make it out to be!! Save yourself €24 and get a nice recession friendly brush in boots :D
