been holding off buying a tv for a while now, and always thought the pannys were the way to go for Plasmas, but someone pointed out the samsung PS50C550.

I Wanted to try keeping it around42inch, but dont mind paying a little more for the 50, but I wondered if anyone had comments on the following:

My room is quite bright (but will mainly be for evening viewing) - is it madness to go for a plasma, especially this model?
DLNA would be very useful as I have a nas running twonky, however - does anyone know if the PS50C550 (or of any TVs in fact) support h264/.mkv files? I have looked around and seen some whirlpool posts that suggest it should, but I would like to know before spending 1k!

Also wih samsung in general, how much extra does cinema smooth/other advanced features help? Anyone else with this model or similar?

If this TV is rubbish what would you guys recommend for around (<1000 euro) budget.

    Important-
Non washed out blacks/good picture quality
DLNA/Nas connectivity (preferably with MKV support)

    Semi important - full HD
    Digital audio out

    Not really important/nice to have
More tuners for more options in the future (I only have the 'free' ntl channels with no box/sub)
