Odd number of UK reg vehicles yesterday?

Was there something going on yesterday that required so many UK reg cars to be on the Stillorgan dual carriageway?

I came up from the Rock road (Blackrock) and while I was waiting to get on to it at the lights I noticed that not only were all the cars in front of me UK reg but the ones coming up behind me too. When I then got on to the dual carriageway there were more as well as a convoy of UK reg motorbikes.

It might be just a big coincidence but for a while I felt I was in NI and the only Irish reg car.

The funny thing is, they were not even going in the same direction. The bikes and some of the cars headed on South while I took the brewery road turn off to get on to the M50 and some of the cars came with me.

If the cars were range rovers it was probably a traveller funeral. If not, just another recce mission to see if there are any more counties we'd be willing to part with.

    Probably.

Might as well have slapped me in the face.....

That makes perfect sense to be honest, I did not think about it because I was not near there but it is not too far from the port so it could explain it.

'Odd number of UK vehicles'. I thought this was going to be about one of those mindbenders along the lines of twenty monkeys with twenty typewriters.

    No I'm not a monkey :p

British Schools go back today. Probably all the "Plastic Paddies" heading home after visiting their grandparents.

BTW OP, if a number plate is along the lines of NJZ 1234 it is a NI reg, if it is something like LJ54 PVL it is from the "Mainland" UK.

As above , Electric Picnic is on, most of the staff are UK based who travel to all festivals on both sides of the water.

Perhaps the OP needed reminding that some yellow plates are Irish regs, although not 26 county ones, as he seemed to think that in NI he would be the only Irish reg.

I saw an odd number of German reg vehicles yesterday, are they planning a kerfuffle on our lands?
