It could also be said that the Android logo looks like R2D2 or any number of similar shaped droids from loads of comics, games or movies. Meh.

I think it bares more than just a passing resemblance particularly given that the Gauntlet character was called android. It does have very similar features. The biggest difference is it has more pixels
