Irish hotel ideas for parent's wedding anniversary?

    Hiya,

I wanna book a hotel in Ireland for a weekend in November for my parent's wedding anniversary. They're based in Dublin, and ideally I would like somewhere about 2 hrs from Dublin so they're not driving for ages. They're 55, and not into golf!! I think somewhere with nice grounds, but not too far from a town would be lovely!

I was looking at the Farnham Estate and Slieve Russel in Cavan, as well as the Carlton House in Maynooth, but they're a tad pricey!

    Any ideas?

the ardilaun in galway has lovely grounds and not far from city with bus stop nearby and the motorway all the way makes it little over 2hrs depending on traffic.
Kinnitty Castle in Offaly is great too, grounds are beautiful and not as far to drive but nearest town is Birr and it's few miles from hotel but it'd be a lovely relaxing break for them.

This place is seriously luxurious and only 2 hours from dublin. more of a chill out hotel than the type of place that would have live music

EDIT: Damn it I want to go back now
