My wife is doing the cake for a friends wedding, but the hotel does not have a cake stand - dont know why.

She is looking for a PERSPEX cake stand that on the top will hold a 8 inch Cake. And then 250 muffin/cup cakes.

Can anyone please offer some help. Or even loan us one - the Wedding is 24th Sept - in Co. Mayo

    PLEASE HELP!!!!

    Thanks

If you're going to be in town, there's a cake supplies shop opposite Trinity around the corner from D'Olier st that does stands, columns, bases, all that kind of stuff.

Edit: "town" = Dublin city, now and forevermore. :P

Even if the hotel had a cake stand it's a cupcake stand you're looking for, a cake stand would be no good.

You can buy them pretty cheap on amazon or ebay, there's some on there for about €15 but 250 is a lot to fit on a stand so you'd be looking at more I'd say. I got one for €60 which is 7 tiers high, holds about 150.

If there's any cupcake makers in your local area you should ask them if they would have one they could lend, a very nice woman let me borrow hers when I was stuck for one and all I had to do was ask.

Edit: Dublin "Town" probably isn't too convenient for Mayo, or most people outside of "town", but try Galway, etc.
