Applied for social care level 8 in dit, got accecpted by DIT then by CAO in july, sent my accecptance letter straight back to CAO and just by chance found out the other day by chance that CAO apparently didnt get my letter accecpting my place on course. CAO told me to contact DIT admissions , which i did and they said that had re-sent my appl. to cao and that i 'should' get a late round offer... im so worried i wont though..or that something will go wrong:confused: so was wondering does anyone have an experience of something like this happening and if so did the person get their offer cos at this point im FREAKING OUT .
P.S i was told by fac.of social care the course starts on 15th of sept which is like an induction day then starts for real on 20th. well thats not too long away now as its 2nd sept so has anyone got booklists or anything like that yet? Just seems to me its being left a little late ?? please let me know x:)

Hi I don't know anyone who's been in your situation. I wouldn't worry about book lists. Usually reading lists are handed out in the first classes of each subject. Tht'a what happened when I was in 1st year, two years ago. I'm studying early ed but I know my friends in social care only got their reading lists in class and not before the course started. Are you a mature student? If so there's a mature student welcome morning in Bolton Street DIT for all new DIT mature students in room 259 tomorrow (7th Sept) starting at 10.30am. I went to this when I was staring 1st year and it's a good way to get to know people and learn a bit about DIT and meet other mature students. Hope you've got your official CAO confirmation by now :-)

If you have the letter from DIT that you got in May/June telling you after your interview that you would get an offer as a mature student (as they come out in July), then go to Admissions and tell them your situation and normally they can extend the date & let you accept again with the CAO. Maybe you have already got sorted out at this stage and if so good luck in your course.
