    Hi everyone

I am looking for ratings for TG4's Irish language programmes: over the past few years.

As TG4 don't keep an archive of their ratings. Would anyone by anychance have such information or know of other places where I might access such information?

I would be so grateful, you have no idea!

    Thanks
    I

Very hard to get them TBH. www.medialive.ie provide more details about RTÉ 1, 2, TV3, UTV and Channel 4.

The share of TG4 is similar to that of BBC 2 and Channel 4 but at times can be as low as 1.6%. It ranges from 2% - 3% of the total audience. Its top show can get 100,000 viewer (sport can get 200,000 viewers). Ros Na Run has an average audience of around 50,000 as does their news.

TG4 is the 8th most watch channel after RTE 1, TV3, RTE 2, BBC 1, UTV, C4 and BBC 2.

    2009 Figures below.

Position | Channel | Share of total viewing (%)
    1 | RTÉ One | 25.79
    2 | TV3 | 12.30
    3 | RTÉ Two | 9.65
    4 | BBC One Northern Ireland | 5.29
    5 | UTV | 4.53
    6 |Channel 4| 3.74
    7 |BBC Two Northern Ireland| 3.06
    8 | TG4 | 2.67
    9 | Sky1 | 1.92
    10 |E4 | 1.19
    11 |Living | 1.18
    12 | Comedy Central | 1.02
    13 | Sky News| 1.17
    14 | Setanta Ireland | 0.9
    15 |Sky Sports 1] | 0.94
    16 | 3e | 0.85
    17 | MTV | 0.72
    18 | Sky Sports News| 0.53
    19 |Nickelodeon| 0.48
    20 |Nick Jr | 0.46

Also I found TG4 to be very helpful if you send them an email off they will give you some of their stats for both English and Irish Language programming. You will find that TG4 and most PBS will hammock their programming i.e. Quality Programmes that should be watch but may not be of interest to the general public are placed between shows that are more populist in nature.
