Vince's ECW v NXT

Which did you prefer?

Looking back at Vince's ECW, I must say it was a fine show.

You got to see guys like Punk, Bourne, Kofi and Swagger kick-start their WWE careers in some very enjoyable feuds. Then it also gave some life to the likes of Mark Henry who was booked excellently on the show.

Then of course Miz and Jo Mo who were floundering a little got their mojo back and formed what was one of the best WWE teams of the decade.

Guys like Christian and Matt also got to put on much longer matches they would on the 2 main shows. It had flaws obviously, a lot of matches were recycled and towards the end the constant talent drains really began to hurt the quality of the show.

NXT on the other hand has been dull when you think about it. The forgettable tag matches and the tasks they do are bloody horrid to watch. Its had it moments, Bryan v Cole, and their has been some good promo's and the occasional decent match, but its a show that does very little for me.



So lads which do you prefer!


Oh and yes and before someone points it, Vince ruined the legacy of Heyman, RVD with this show, the big evil ruthless Hitler wannabe:rolleyes:

I much preferred ECW. Add guys like The Harts, Yoshi, Zack Ryder to those listed in the OP and you had a very good show. NXT is for most part terrible, counter-productive TV and an all womens show will be even worse.

NXT would be more comparable to Tough Enough, in that the sole purpose is creating new superstars. ECW was built more towards existing stars being elevated to a higher level.

If you're going to have a poll, i'll make my vote ECW.

I could care less about this season's NXT, although i did catch most of S1. I just don't care to see matches for wrestler's sake -- they don't have gimmicks, characters or signature/special moves for the most part. Or cut an interesting promo. There's nothing for me there.

ECW, i'd catch if there was a feud that I was interested in, maybe JoMo/Punk, Swagger vs Christian/Finlay/Dreamer.... although i can certainly live without it also!

in the end, ECW > NXT even though I enjoyed NXT S1 mostly, because of Danielson, a superb storyline. Now that's over, I couldn't care less. I wouldn't even watch it to see Kaval, one of my boys!

I gotta admit I hate NXT. The tasks they do are bolox and the way it's been so rushed is a joke.

I loved Vince's ECW as Swagger and Christian were deservely main eventing it and not to forget Christian and Benjaimin's Ladder match last year at TLC which stole the show. The likes of Bourne, a couple of the NXT guys and the Uso's would thrive there rather than being buried on Raw.

Voted for Emo tart because even Emo's need love.

Vince's ECW was better than pretty much any wrestling Tv show I've seen the days of the Smackdown Six. I loved it - a simply booked, logical hour of TV, with the emphasis on pro wrestling, some serious talent over the years and a show that remained excellent despite being frequently raped of its talent. NXT is a decent little sho as well, but nowhere near as good as ECW. Vince's ECW > Heyman's ECW as well btw.
