Does any one know the points needed to earn one? Also is it €300 per year, or €300 for the two years?

Hi. I got one last year - you need 560 points and you get €150 in first year and €150 in second year. They're book vouchers that you can use in Waterstones and Hodges Figgis (both of which are on Dawson Street beside the Arts Block gate). Weren't particularly helpful for me cause I do languages (books only available from specific shops) but I did buy loads of satire instead :D it's nice to get em anyway!

    Hope this helps!

I got 570 points....do I have to apply for the book tokens or is it just on record that I qualify?

On record - they'll tell you about it, and then you can go collect this year's token.

Yep. You won't get it until about November though... Which is kind of annoying, I already had the books I needed for the first semester bought

They have a little ceremony thing too :p

They've actually started posting them out. I got mine some time in October last year, I think it was fairly late on, and you get an "invite" to your Entrance Exhibition ceremony with that which will be sometime during the week beginning Monday 22nd of November.

I don't think that would be a good idea, you are annoying enough sober!

I can picture you getting pissed, asking people loads of questions! starting fights , screaming crying and vomiting simultaneously.

Hodges Figgs vouchers can be used in HMV too, well at least they could in my day.

I think you have to use them in Waterstones first, and ask for the "change" of the voucher back in HMV-friendly tokens.

I never bothered because I actually needed to buy a load'a books, but this is apparently how it was done.

Nobody informed me of this fact! I may remember that this year. I can't really get any books for my course in those shops. I spent most of mine this year on cookery books. Good times.
