Written, directed and Produced by two time oscar winner Paul Haggis and with a good cast including Liam Neeson and Russel Crowe it is being described as Crime thriller with the plot line reading 'A married couple's life is turned upside down when the wife is accused of a murder'.
I know its a remake of 2008 film 'Pour Elle' but I like the look of it.

Didn't want to start a new thread as there already is one (a little old, but still).

Watched this earlier and thought it was brilliant.
Possibly a bit slow to get going, but it's a very well worked film and I would recommend it.

    Very, very impressed.

    I liked it too,

One gripe would be I'm not 100% sure about the highway scene but it doesn't ruin the movie.

Crowe is never anything less then good and the rest of the cast fit in nicely and I really like that you Don't know if the wife is guilty or not till near the very end.

I would also reccomend espically if you liked prison break and that kind of thing.

I watched the original (Pour Elle) last year and really enjoyed it.

Has anyone seen the two, how do they compare?

I found it to be entertaining while comletely ridicolous. The last few scenes did ruin the film somewhat, the freeway bit being a step too far and the last scene with the cop being the kind of simplistic wrap up that Haggis is known for. My biggest gripe is that Liam Neeson was mentioned in all the trailers, posters etc leading you to believe that he was an integral part of the film rather than a 45 second cameo.

There's not a whole lot in the difference. The original is a much shorter, tighter film; while the remake greatly expands on the chase and certain aspects of the plot, improving some parts, screwing up others. Haggis makes two really excellent additions imo that aren't in the original:
a scene in which Banks tells Crowe that she did it, presumedly in order to get him to move on with his life
    ; and a follow-up scene in which
Crowe tells her that he doesn't care what she says, he knows her and he knows she couldn't have done it
    .

But on the other hand, these scenes also contribute to a far greater focus on the question of
    whether she did it
. The ending makes the answer quite clear but feels tacked on, probably due to a poor response from the test audience. The original leaves it ambiguous and doesn't make the mistake of returning to it at the end when it shouldn't matter anymore.

Spoon-fed ending aside, it's still a very entertaining film.

I saw this too and while I thought it was a bit hammy in some parts, I thought it was pretty brilliant the rest of the time.

Kept me hooked untill the end.
The only real let down was Liam Neeson!
