Transporting Motorbike on Trailer

A friend of mine has a Triumph motorbike. Since his dad got it, it hasn't started properly and then ended up not starting at all. The ignition system was changed by the previous owner and there's a guy in Kilkenny who can sort this out for him.

My question is, aside from needing a car with a hitch and the right trailer, do I need this EB license in order to bring it myself?

I posted something similar in the Motorbike seciton but didn't get a proper reply.

Wwill the maximum weight of the trailer when fully loaded be 750kg or less? If so then no EB required

I haven't a clue what the weight will be but you answered my question :D

    Thanks!

.....I'll put money on it that your Dad's Triumph has Boyer Bransden electronic ignition, hence the problem..........AMHIK.........

Not my dad's, my friend's dad bought it originally and gave it to my friend as a 21st birthday present.

Yes, it has the electronic ignition but it has to be changed back to the original points system in order for it to work.

    AMHIK?????

Dry weight of bikes are pretty low - I'd say it would be fair to assume < 250kg
(But I'm sure you could get the figure off the web if you know the model?)

So provided the trailer is less than 500 Kg you should be in business.

Oh no it doesn't ! There's a reason they replaced the points system - they're rubbish ! However, if Boyer hadn't mis-printed the wiring diagram () all those years ago, life would have been so much easier !

    ...it's how I met Mrs Gtt.........awwwwww, shucks...........there's me on my Suzuki GSX-F, and she on a T100P............what a ball of ****e. The bike, I mean...... :D ......
....I then bought her, in a moment of rare weakness, a 1963 3TA, as it was easier than curing the T100P. Every single thing you can think of, broke on it.......good grief. Thank God for the Japanese, that's what I say !

Thanks Paddy. It's a Mk3 Triumph Tiger 90 and I've tried getting the weight online but i'm missing a few details I think.

Does dry weight mean no fuel in the tank?

EDIT: Also, I have no idea where to get the proper trailer for a motorbike. Any ideas??

Dry weight = No fuel or oil. You should be way under the 750Kg limit with this bike.

Bike should only weigh around 200KG, should be OK with the license you have.
