    Hi All,

Got a fine for the M50 toll on a car I traded into a garage last month. The M50 crowd say I need to have the car in the garages name which I understand. Problem is the garage are a bit of a nightmare to deal with. what the best way to get the car out of name and get rid of this fine.

    Anyone any ideas?

When you sell a car to the garage, the garage sorts all that out so you'll really have to talk to them.

As for the fine, it's not yours. You weren't driving the car therefore you are not liable for any fine. Speak to the eflow people again and send them in a photocopy of the documents you got when you traded in the car, tell them to go chase the garage for it.

I would check to see if you are still the registered owner of the car.
As Seamus says, if you have docs from the sale then use them!

I had the same problem a few years ago and ended up getting a form from shannon, getting the guards to sign it basically declaring that I was no longer the owner and sending it back to Shannon.Up till this I was getting loads of reminders in the post!

Check on www.motortax.ie if it's been transferred recently. If it has, then it's E-Flow's problem.

If it hasn't been transferred, go to whoever you traded the car in to and stand over them while they:
    1. Pay the fine
    2. Transfer the ownership in to their name

Both these can be done on line now.
