    Hey all.

Need some advice/confirmation regarding my TV and peripherals set-up please….

So here is what I have:

    Sony 46” TV
    SKY HD Box
    PS3
    Multi region DVD player/recorder
    Denon 1910 amp (with 6.1 speaker set-up)
So how do I connect them all up ?

    Is this anywhere near correct?

    1. Connect TV to Denon via HDMI
    2. Connect PS3 to Denon via HDMI
    3. Connect Sky HD Box to Denon via HDMI…
    4. Connect Sky HD Box to Denon via Optical cable (for sound, boxes do not output DD5.1 over HDMI)”
    5. DVD Player (no HDMI out) to Denon via ???? for picture and another for sound?

Also what way do I connect the speakers into the Denon 1910??
I have for Surround a Rear Left, Rear Right & Rear Centre and then a Front Left, Front Right & Front Centre.

Denon has following speaker connector groups:

Front A:Right and Left (so presume just connect Front Left & Right speakers into here)

    Front B:Right and Left available

Surround Back/Amp Assign:Right and Left (so presume just connect Rear Left & Right speakers into here) ???

Centre: Which centre (front or rear) do I connect here?

    Surround:Right and Left

where does the Rear Center one go:confused:

    appreciate the help:D

Why does your audio from the Sky HD box not go over HDMI? It should. If you can configure the output as linear PCM.

For your DVD player, use the RGB cables. That would be next best to HDMI for quality.

    Centre is front centre.

Rear centre? An 8.1 setup? Normally you have 7.1 or 9.1. Front left, centre, front right, surround left, surround right, rear left, rear right, and then subwoofer. A rear centre is not very common.

If your DVD player has got DVI out, use a DVI > HDMI converter plug. If it has got component out (YpPbPr or something on the top off my head), use that. If it doesn't, use SCART (RGB).

About the speakers, it sounds like you have a 6.1 system while the Denon is a 7.1 system. 7.1 uses three front channels (L, C, R), 2 surround channels (L, R) and 2 "surround back" channels (L, R), which are supposed to sit behind the listener.

    Something like this:

edit: Or yeah, check the manual on how to set up a 6.1 system (if supported). Otherwise just go with 5.1.
