Is there ANY way to get a place on a lower preference?

    My preferences:
    1.English in TCD
    2.English in UCD
    3.BESS in TCD
    4.Liberal arts in UCD.

    On the 2nd round of offers I've just been offered English in UCD,I'm quite happy but I still would prefer to get BESS.I have the points/entry requirements but since it's a lower preference on my CAO,I don't get offered it.Is there no possible way that I can get offered this? :/

    If you take a place on a course in TCD it's easy to transfer into something else in TCD if you have the points. Other than that I don't know. :S

    gah,the course i'm in atm is in UCD so no luck for me :(
