My brother's Audi A8 needs an oil service. It's also been going through a lot of oil lately, which I suspect may have something to do with the PCV. Can anyone recommend a bright, resourceful, experienced mechanic in Dublin? The closer to the Dún Laoghaire area the better. Thanks.

    These lads are excellent

Just off the naas road kingswood exit.

Last time I was their Keith was putting a S320 cdi back together that hadn't been run for 2 years. He repiared one ECU saving at least a grand.

Not disputing that they are excellent, just noticed on the promo pic there is only one mechanic there, lots of guys in suits and receptionists!
all the mechanics should be in the shot!

on topic: they also get good rep over on a financial site I checked.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    +1

For diagnostics on a (high end) German car, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

    2 Owners Mark and Keith

    Keith is the mechanic.

More than him doing the oily bits mind.

Glad to hear not just me singing their praises.

Just rang MKW, and I have to say they're very impressive on the phone. Car is booked in for Tuesday, we'll see then!

Probably a bit late but Jetstar are still around, albeit under their owner's name now - Gerard Lee

They've been servicing the car up to now, but i've finally become sick of their messing. Last time, they told me the handbrake wasn't adjustable, and that i'd need to replace the rear pads to reduce play. Went home, googled how, brought the car back, told them how and they did it. Another time I booked a Golf in for a TB, and they ordered the wrong kit (car has a/c). It took an extra day, which would have been fine except that they never bothered to inform the owner until they arrived to collect the car, having crossed the city at 9am. No apology on either occasion. That's just not acceptable service in my book.
