I was only just looking at the Asus tonight in the shops. I was quick impressed. It seems a sturdy machine.

However for the same price you would get a good spec toshiba/HP.

Although the Asus is a night size, I do worry about brands I've never heard of...

    Hi,

ASUS seems to be one the most reliable brands in the market ever above Dell or HP.
Problem with HP machines, they get overheated when watching movies on your lap.
The Dell machine has more hard drive and DVD incorporated. Someone has recomended the ASUS already but I dont seem to be able to make up my mind
    Thanks,
    j

I bought the ASUS too. They didnt have the DVD and the sleeve but they will call me when it gets in. I am wondering if the Dell was a better machine still. I find this screen a bit too small.

Thinking to get the 1T Gb external hard drive now for 100E

    Enjoy the laptop

Recently bought an ASUS computer from an Irish retailer. Heard great things about the company. The computer was a mess slow start up, kept crashing and it felt cheap. It cost me over €600 so it wasn't a budget model. When I reported the issues they were no help and blamed all the issues on a broken screen I got repaired after the first time the computer was sent for repair where they found it had a faulty mother board. They send the computer of to a 3rd party to get fixed and will have Notting to do with you and can take up to 5 weeks to get back from repairs. Really poor customer service and wont be buying ASUS again.

    Repair
If you request a repair of a faulty product instead of rejecting it, it should be a permanent repair. If the same fault occurs again, then you should be entitled to a replacement or refund. If you are not happy with the retailer’s offer to repair the item, you can reject it. But if you do this, you may have to use the Small Claims process if you want to take the matter further.

Remember, the retailer may charge you for the repair if you have been responsible for the damage to the product.

you should really ask for a refund/replacement from that retailer.
