Hi, i recently got ableton 8 and im completely new to it, before now i made music on reason.
I'm figuring out the warping and theres lots of good stuff online to help out, but nothing seems to have mentioned my problem.
ive set up my warp markers at the start and end of my sample, and then ive been directed to change the bpm of the waveform/sample, but the "seg. bpm" button is just greyed out permanently and it wont let me change it.
any help would be really appreciated as im tearing my hair out trying to figure it out
    thanks
    shane

There should be a button marked 'warp' near the bpm selection etc... and click that... I'll double check in detail in a sec, but i think that's the one.

hey man thanks for the reply it seems to have sorted itself out somehow:confused:
im having a bigger problem now though, ive done everything edited my sample and all, warp markers are all in, i need to speed up the sample, what i did was change the global tempo and the sample matched up perfectly with the metronome, then i cropped it and put it in the folder, but then when i put it into simpler its gone back to the original tempo, any ideas?

    thanks,
    shane

Ah, well when you are editing it in the 'warped' mode it is playing back in relation to the speed of the track.

When you pop it into Simpler it just plays back at original sample speed, so you'd need to go back to original method of the pure sample and then 'freeze' and then flatten the track/clip... this would leave you with a sample that isn't warped anymore and fixed/rendered at that speed.

    Hope that helps.
