    Hello

I was wondering if somebody here could point me towards the relevant information as regards taxation for goods sold online. I wish to set up a small online store as part of a website I own and have found it difficult to find information regarding this type of business setup, particualrly about taxation for international orders.

I have gone through so many documents on revenue.ie only to find that they were not relevant or what I was looking for and just need some guidance as to what exactly it is I should be looking for.

    Thanks
    John

    Hi john

International trading is a complex area and is one in which you really should take proper tax advice. There are implications for VAT also which you should look into.

My advice would be to talk to a tax consultant about the whole thing.

    Okay-

For VAT queries read the guide in the stickies above.

Don't worry about VAT or VAT registering unless your turnover is going to be over 35K odd, which is unlikely on a start up.

Bascially you will be a sole trader, read the guide to to it above in the stickies.

    Many thanks.

It has been suggested to me to set up sales through an ebay shop which might simplify things. I was not aware of the turnover threshold. That's very encouraging.

    Thanks again for the replies.
