.mov to .mp4?

    Is there some way of converting a .mov file to .mp4 or something that will work on an iPod? I've a video that's a little under 300 MB and want to put it on my iPod. I tried Handbrake, but it quits before it even scans the file, iSquint has also proven unco-operative. I've Googled, but I don't know what else might be reliable. The video is not from a dodgy site or anything like that.
