Very nearly finished the Physical training for Berlin. Last long run this coming weekend. Now to begin the mental training. Can anybody recommend any books/articles/techniques/tricks etc on the psycology of marathon running and the training of oneself mentally for the task ahead?

Berlin is one of the easiest out there. Flat as a pancake with a million spectators. Is it you first one and if so how has training gone ?? How many runs of over 17 have you done ??
Re mental I think getting a pen and paper and drawing up when you will take on gels water etc etc.........
For example Toilets/water stations very busy first 10km etc..........

A thing that worked for me was a sign i once saw "Champions arent made in gyms"

You will have developed mentally through your training. Remember all those days you were tired but pushed on, remember all the work you have put in over the last few months. Just stick to the plan and if you get tired during it remember all the hard work you have put in and have faith in your training.

If it helps go over your logs to remind you how far you have come. Also any motivational clips you can get your hands on and dont forget to try to enjoy the occasion you do running because you want to not because you have to
