When you are in trainig you are based in Templemore in digs all week so I would find it very unlikey that you could do both.
Also when you are out of the college you'll be working shifts, again very hard to do part time course..
Why would you like to continue in college if you are training as a Garda?

Its a distance learning course and I will only have to attend class 6 times a year once a month on Fridays & Saturdays. I want to keep all of my options open.

Can't see them allowing you time off from Templemore to study something different.....
Do you really wanna be a Garda?
If so, why keep the options open?
Do your course cause chances are you'll be finished a year of it anyway before you get near Templemore.

On Phases I, III & V you're let off on Friday evening around 4 and expected to be back in the college for 11pm on Sunday. On Phases II & IV you're working the standard roster and getting time off is up to the Sgt.

I wouldn't fancy having to drive home on a Friday & then go into another lecture though.
