What are cd wow like to buy from? Good with delivery etc?

A friend wants tv series. It is 19 euro from them with free delivery. Amazon 13stg and delivery charge so she wants to deal with cd wow if possible unless someone knows anywhere cheaper online.

I never bought from them hence my query. Thanks

They're a reliable site, usually buy the odd book or game from them.

Usually they dispatch within 24 hours, and it usually takes about 5-10 working days to arrive.

They're worth using for the free delivery.

    Hi ferguson
Have bought loads of them over the years and have never had problems with them, this includes exchanging a live aid box set which was the wrong region.

never had a problem with them, they email me vouchers from time to time. Anytime I did get a CD with the case broken I just rang them and they sent out a couple of spares.

You should try play.com, better prices!

CDWow used to be good, several years ago, but then turned brutal. I swore off them a long time ago after several failed or botched orders (by them) and lie after lie about delivery.

    Use Play.com, sendit.com or Amazon.

CDWow may also be shutting down.

Avoid using Laser online, it offers no purchase protection at all, and any fraud will be out of your pocket.

If you go over £25 on amazon.co.uk delivery is free, you must select it at checkout. They sell all sorts of stuff so you might be able to find some cheap items to bump up your value and get free postage.

There are also price comparison sites, like this

There are also no customs/VAT/charges to consider when buying from Amazon. Play, CDWow, Sendit, HMV all ship from outside the EU, and anything over €22 will be liable for VAT and charges.

How does that work? Where is the vat charged? At checkout or on delivery? or like this, you get a letter from Revenue?

    Thanks for the feedback guys

Not at checkout, I think many end up in depots and you have to go collect it and pay the money, also 2 of my mates had to go out miles to a depot when we have a proper depot right around the corner. I think I recall paying the postman himself years ago -no certain.

I am not sure what the limit would be on dvds, since I found this

    http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/pn1179.html
Where the customs duty on a consignment of goods amounts to less than €10 it will not be collected. Similarly, VAT liability amounting to less than or equal to €6 will not be collected. No similar rule applies in the case of excise duty which will always be collected if the goods are liable to excise duty.
So if the limit is €6 and you are buying a item with 21% VAT then it could be €28.57 in value before you are liable.

Maybe the lower rate is for alcohol or perfume or something

I wouldn't use CD-Wow as I had one bad experience with them, which has put me off. I wouldn't recommend them.

CD wow ship from the far east, delivery takes a while sometimes, and as mentioned above, you may have to pay customs and vat on import.
