twincam:jap vs uk spec

    hi guys,i like my oul ae86 twincams, but the boys are always on about jap, uk and irish specx cams, so can ye tell me what are the differences between a jap spec, and a uk spec twincam???
    and what makes them different from the irish one???

    [old fart interloper reminiscing]Those Corollas were a great bloody car. Reliable and serious fun and driving through the back wheels. Good to see people still namechecking them. Very popular up in northern Ireland. Less seen down south, though a mate had one.

    Now I may be way off here, so don't shoot me folks, but AFAIR the only difference was in people's heads. The Americans got a lower powered one alright and I think the Jap one had some extra tricky bits in the interior, but any power diffs were down to the higher RON petrol in Japan. The differences between the UK and Irish one I can't see. I mean why build a different car for such a small market(though that said Ford at the time did). [/old fart interloper reminiscing]

    their mad popular down south now. only 17 now but as soon as i can afford one, BOP BOP BOP BAWP!!!!!

    EXTERIOR:

    1.UK side repeaters in front wings
    2.Certain colours could only be got in uk and not in japan,eg. silver over graphite,and burgundy
    3.Aerial in pas side front wing.
    4.Rear lights
    5.UK has petrol flap lock.
    6.Mirrors are different.
    7.Jap ae86 has brown glass.Uk does not.
    8.Uk windscreen is different size to a jap windscreen.
    9.Rear number plate lamps are different.
    10.Jap grille (flap/levin with fogs etc.)-different to UK grille.
    11.Jap ae86 has air con system.


    INTERIOR:

    1.Heater control panel.
    2.Uk has speedo in MPH.
    3.Interior (door cards,quarter cards,rear seats)
    4.Headrests are different on Jap front seats.
    5.Jap has space saver spare wheel,Uk has standard alloy wheel.

    I probably left out loads but they are the main differences,basically a paddy spec twincam,is just a twincam with cibies,superlites and a janspeed exhaust,
