this is the one i have:

    IMAG0438%20%28Small%29.jpg

    IMAG0440%20%28Small%29.jpg

i have a hp deskjet 840c printer. i'm using a windows xp computer. i'm trying to get them to all work together. to the best of my knowledge they all worked ok before.

i can't connect to the print server. from memory once reset the device should pickup an ip from the dhcp on my router but it doesn't seem to be doing this.

can anyone offer advice who's familiar with this?

    thanks

i don't have the manual still. i did a factory reset to the best of my knowledge from what i could find from googling. held down the reset button while powering on. lights flashed funny etc

it says the ip address is 192.168.0.10 on a diagnostic page that's printed (didn't work previously). i go to http://192.168.0.10 but don't get the prompt for password as suggested in the manual.

i've also tried to connect on another pc as well without success. i've checked all the cables and they're all ok. there doesn't appear to be any ip address conflict.

    i can't work it out.

well, check yours network address range , may be different eg. 192.168.1.xx when print servers is 192.168.0.xx
anyway, did you install pserver software

my pc ip is 192.168.0.7. my router is 192.168.0.1. my print server is 192.168.0.10. the router is giving out all ips in the range 192.168.0.x.

i didn't install any printer server software on my pc. the manual suggests i can manage from a web interface (and i have done that in the past). i can't login to the web interface at http://192.168.0.10 though (from the manual).

try to install software then (link posted earlier :) ) this may help, check yours firewall settings aswell as have a look in the routers 'attached devices' tab (web router interface) ... does manual say how to do 'proper' factory reset - do it again
