Hi I just got one of these slides and when i install it seems like it is giving alot of resistance when you slide it back. Is this right? Do i need to modify it somehow or should it rack back easily like the original slide? Anyone else get one of these with the same problem?
    Thanks for any advice!

    A quick Google found this:

You WILL have to file down the rails of the frame where the slide tracks.
I have installed three PGC slides on my G17's and all required some degree of filing for each.
DON"T expect them to be a perfect "out of the box" drop in replacement part because they are not!
Just make sure to file down where the HIGH spots are and use some gear grease on the tracks when breaking it in...hand-racking of the slide will smooth it out over time.
Also, don't use the metal outer barrel until you get the slide functioning 100%...the plastic outer will make things easier for you until you figure the slide out!
FILE LITTLE BY LITTLE, too much and it will be sloppy!

    Hope it helps!

I have one of these slides on my TM G17 and I had a similar problem that was caused by the front sight screw catching the outer barrel. If there's any long scratches or marks on the top of the outer barrel then this may be the cause. The design of the PGC slide causes the screw to protrude to far and the head needs to be filed flat to prevent this happening. I had no problems with the rails catching anywhere on mine.

Yeah it doesnt seem to be the rail! I put just the metal slide in it just to test and it racks back easier. So it seems like its the outer barrel thats causing it. So will just figure out what to file on it. The inner barrel assembly seems to not sit in it properly like on the plastic outer. Anyway thanks for your help!

If it is the front sight screw, then it's just a case of filing the head of the screw flat, that should reduce contact and it should cycle smoothly.

Just wonder if the slides have full trades?
I'd be very interested in seeing a pic of the finished job if possible as I've been thinking about getting a TM G17 and an aftermarket metal slide...

The PGC slide markings are pretty much identical to the original TM slide on both sides.

Yep! But the PGC slide just feels like a quality piece of metal. Held alot of metal pistols/rifles but this is just much nicer than anything! Now to just get it racking properly! :)

Rule number one, never buy a PGC kit without a metal file. ;)

Once you get it fitted to a Marui handgun, you have the ultimate pistol.
