    Hello,

I have seen there are a few threads for after shave / cologne but there is no real information about the strength of each or there are people listing off the whole stock of boots.

What is your favourite cologne that would be suitable for an office environment?

Any cologne will be suitable tbh, if it's too strong then you're using too much.

Good question. Its hard to know really, some of my colleagues have nice subtle cologne but I really don't know them that well to ask them what it is. On the other hand the cologne some of the lads wear brings tears to my eyes! Not sure if its that they put too much on or its just a strong scent?
I rarely wear any of mine to work because I'd be afraid that its too strong?

Something subtle like the Hugo Boss line are grand.Personally I find ones like Joop very overpowering.

    avoid JOOP!....

Something from Armani-Gucci is the way to go.

    an aftershave balm is best.

very subtle, rehydrates the skin and lasts a little bit longer in a warm office.

For a work environment don't use popular fashion type cologne or after shave, they will be too sweet and maybe a little strong for an office environment. What you need is a more classic cologne or aftershave such as floid, or proraso, both are barber shop aftershaves, which leave a nice clean smell which isn't over powering, and it's cheap as chips with 400ml going for about €20. Chris from shaving.ie has them in stock and does business with a lot of posters on the facial hair an hats forum.

You wont be barred from the office for wearing strong aftershave anyway.

but I really don't know them that well to ask them what it is.

I talk to random colleagues in my building that I don't know if I like their shoes or whatever, nobody minds!
"Hey I like the cologne, what is it?"
Or is this a guy thing I don't get :D

If some random guy I work with came up and asked me what cologne I was wearing it would set alarm bells ringing. It could lead to all sorts of misunderstandings and general uncomfortable vibes. Like I said though if I knew the guy very well then it would be fine
