Im desperately looking for any info from anybody who might work in either sector and who mite be able to shed some light on the future jobs propects. I have been unemployed for quiet awhile now and Im very concious my next move is an important one. I would be grateful of any info that might help me make this decision. Thankyou

its very hard to tell what future job prospects are going to be like.

so many people have masters ( i'm assuming you are talking about a 1 year conversion course ) that a even a masters is no guarantee of getting you a job in IT.

i'm probably be flamed for this but why don't you look at WPP ? you get to keep your benefit , you don't have to pay fees and you can leave if it doesn't work out.

Do science and you could always move into teaching? IT can be learned from books and by doing short technical courses.

    Which one do you prefer?

Bear in mind most people don't really like working in IT...

I always enjoyed using the various software associated with civil eng such as AutoCAD but I know it could be a different situation when you are working with computers full time. The main thing I would be worried about with the IT is I will only have one year of study while graduates from IT degrees will have 4 years. Its a tough call!
