If you could pick one abandoned place to play airsoft where would it be?

Mine would have to be this place:

    Waterford Stanley

Rumor has it that someone has opened it for airsoft but i am not sure how true this story is. When i was here to take these pics i could see that it was being used for paintball. The place is massive and full of great places to hide. Also the old Ard Ri Hotel across the river in Waterford city would be another great place to have airsoft.

Looks like an insurance nightmare to be honest..I'd say for anyone looking to use it for airsoft prob wouldn't even get a quote for it...
    pity though :D

Lovely idea, and its how a lot of sites in the uk work... renting disused factory complexes... etc. HOWEVER, be warned, you cant just rock up and play, or organize it that simply. Health and safety in abandoned buildings is an absolute shocker... insurance, PLI, PERMISION, rent... access... services... Ask any of the site owners here how difficult it is to set up a smaller site even. Lovely idea, but takes a bit of planning. Would end up being good, we use a site similar here, love it, but with warehouses that open, you'd need to do a LOT of internal work to divide it up, make it fightable, or its just a bb tossing contest.

Now I may be wrong here but I don't think the OP is talking about setting this place up as an airsoft site. My understanding is that this is just discussing abandoned places that would make an awesome site, if someone were to go to all the trouble of making it safe and legal.
So lets not ruin this thread with all the reasons why it'll probably never happen :p.

It's not abandoned but I'd like to play at Newgrange. Yes I know its really open and wouldn't be a good site as is, but I'd still like to play there.

Also I'd like to hit up dublin airport, I'm sure there are better airports, but dublin is the closest to me.

Sorry they're not abondoned, but the only abondoned place I saw that I'd like to play is an old steel mill/works and I can't for the life of me remember where it is :o.

personally any of the half built housing estates that are lying around unused in kerry, we have one just down the road only the shells of 10+ houses built, would make a rather nice fubar site :)

We have a section in the charter which states -

*There will be no discussion of skirmishing on land other than approved airsoft/paintball sites. It is extremely stupid and dangerous. People who do this put our whole sport at risk.

We do not want to give people the impression that we skirmish in abandoned places or that this kind of activity is okay.

Therefore I am closing this thread.
