    I've gone through a lot of threads and been on tripadvisor for more time than I care to remember. I'm looking for a last minute week in the sun in the next fortnight. Probably Spain/Canaries or Portugal but just can't decide on a location. Myself and OH are looking for a relaxing break in the sun to recharge the batteries. Hotel or apartment as long as it's near the beach, has a pool and somewhere with a pool bar would be an advantage for the brief escapes to the shade. Not looking for clubbing but somewhere with a good selection of quality restaurants would be great. Not looking to spend a fortune but flexible for the right location.

    Any thoughts/suggestions most welcome!

    I was in the same boat as you, i was looking for somewhere to go and myself and the girlfriend have decided to go to Egypt in November.

    If you want to get a really good deal I would suggest you to it through either Sunway or Falcon.

    Here is the link for Sunway, they are fantastic for late deals! http://www.sunway.ie

    They have a good choice of places to go to in September including Gran Canaria, Turkey, Tunisia, Lanzarote, Cyprus, etc

    Check it out!

    Falcon Holidays will also have some good holidays but might be a bit more expensive

    Lanzarote, specifically the old town of Puerto del carmen sounds exactly what your looking for.best food on the canary islands

    In terms of accommodation the Sea Pearl hotel in Kusadasi is gorgeous. 2/3min walk from beach, lovely rooms with balcony. Huge pool with bar.

    Loads of stuff to do there, if you are so inclined! It was my first package holiday and wanted to go somewhere nice with plenty of activities.
    Ephesus is amazing and jeep trek was fun.

    Think it's a 3.5hr flight. Algarve in Portugal is handy for cheap and cheerful hol and it's only 2hrs on plane.

    Morocco is pretty close too if ye fancied something a little bit different
