Hey just looking for some tips about where I can buy good priced car oil for a Honda Jazz. The manual recommends Honda Oil.

Also, is there any difference between the Honda made oil and a generic oil?

Is there a Honda specification for the oil to be used in that engine?

VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat approved oils have stuff like, for example, "VW 507 00" printed on the oil-containers for lubricants that meet the specifications for a particular engine. Simply match the oil spec on the tin with the standard mentioned in the maintenance manual and off you go.

    Do Honda do this?

Your local motor factors will be of help there, the manual for the car should state what oil it needs, not just the grade but the exact spec.
Big retailers like Halfrauds are not always better and the nitwits working there wouldn't know an oil from a coolant 90% of the time.
Make sure that the spec that's printed in your manual is also printed on the bottle.
Ignore all assurances like "ah sure, she'll be grand", in fact run out of the shop cause you're dealing with cowboys and morons.
Sadly the days of just grabbing a bottle 15w40 are long, long gone, buying the right oil has become a science.
But once the right spec for your car is printed on the bottle you're getting there.
Also, oil these days is costly so don't be afraid to fork out.
