I had noticed you seem to struggle with comprehensible English. Do you want to change the tyres only, the wheels only or both the tyres and the wheels?

    Ha. Your right there!

Eh just the alloys the tyres are pretty much new.

This is Motors, not English class. It was in any case quite clear to me from their post that the OP wants to change their wheels.

    Hello Mathepac

Your sentence doesn't make sense .

I assume that you meant to say the following: "I had noticed THAT you seem to struggle".

Top Tip: When being critical of somebody else's English it is wise to use good English yourself. ;)

with the alloys, you can stick on any tyres wether they be run flat or standard, but with the run flat tyre dont you have to use a scertain wheel, IIRC it has some form of inner lip to keep the tyre in place after losing pressure?

Hey op, you need to let us know what car you have so someone can match up bolt pattern etc.

Run flats definately need a certain alloy as kceire has said. A chap local to me swapped his rft over onto a different set of alloys on his Mini, then ended up nearly writing the car off a couple of weeks later as the tyre came away from the alloy going around a corner. So, just a warning of the dangers that can happen if you mix and match incorrectly.

Apologies for my phrasing of the problem!

Its a bmw 320. Current model lets say 05 up. I want to change the alloys on it as i think they are dog rough.. but the tyres themselves are fine!

    Thanks

You'll have to get a specific alloy to suit the runflat wheel. I posted this before, but here goes again in my best ascii art.

    Normal wheel cross section :

    Runflat wheel cross section :
    /--^
    \

The runflat wheel has a little groove in the wheel close to one side.

Thanks Paint Doctor. Any ideas where would supply some of the ones that would fit the car?

Best thing to do is either pay plenty at your local BMW dealer for their alloys, or go to a shop which specifically sells alloys and ask.

Although, you should be aware that the most cost effective way would be to buy a tire and wheel package which you can get cheaply these days, and shift to normal tires. You'll be able to sell your part worn run flats to someone with a tight budget.
