Right so just for the record this is how one makes a good cup of tea:

    A) Boil water in a kettle that is clean absolutely scum free and make sure the cup is clean too, who likes filth in their tea?
    B) Place a tea bag in the cup and slowly pour the water two thirds full.
    C) (This is the mistake the majority of people make) Leave the tea bag in the cup for 5 full minutes untouched, do not try and stir/mash the tea bag in to speed things up.
    D) Check the date on the milk, if it is in anyway dodgy you know you are screwed and have to make a run for the shop.
    E) Stir the sugar properly when people ask for it: stir for one full minute rotating the spoon clockwise and anticlockwise, don't be lazy when it comes to sugar it's high in energy and is important to some peoples enjoyment of tea.
    F) Add milk and give it one more small stir for around 15 seconds.
    G) Buy biscuits too and not the **** one's.

So as you can see you don't just slap a cup of tea together. Anyway best of luck with the new intern DT I hope he/she does plenty of practice when it comes to the important stuff such as tea and coffee.

    that would take blooming ages.

the holy grail of tea making is the strong but milky cup of tea with 1 bag.an artform in itself

good luck with the search damaged, looks like a fantastic opportunity

Hey Damaged would there be an interview stage or would it be chosen on the basis of the CV application alone?

interview 100%.. although it will be very informal.

if im gonna be workin with someone in a small studio on long sessions then their personality and manner is going to be a huge part of the selection process.

Hey DT just curious as to why this is closed at the moment? Also curious as to what a 'reel' is in this case?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,277 ✭✭✭DamagedTrax

just because of the amount of interest in it. i can bloody keep up! im trying to reply to everyone... the brain is willing but the fingers arent :(

a show reel is just a cd with a few of your best productions/mixes on it.

probably should've just said cd but its a term ive always used :)

So the tea and coffee pecking order is as follows:

DT (A man who is serious about a serious cup of tea with a dash of mint)

Personally I prefer my coffee "Studio Engineer Style", that is, cold with a fly and some fag ash floating in it.

Yes but AVA, you'd keep throwing his stuff out the window:D

Of course you'd have to wash your hands after rubbing his feet, couldn't be making tea after rubbing DT's feet:eek:
