    Hi all,
I've been finding it unbelievably difficult to get nice bras in my size lately as I have lost weight and am quite big boobed. Someone told me yesterday that there was a shop in Castlebar that did large cup bras and I was just wondering is this true, and if so, has anyone any experience of it. I'm getting very fed up getting bras sent from online and having to constantly send them back if they don't fit :(

If you're up in dublin Bramora on Earlfort Terrace is great for fitting larger sizes.
I've hare of Bella Lussa but not experience of them myself.

I'm not near Dublin at the moment, but I'll give Bramora a go the next time I am, cheers for that. Castlebar is closer to me so would be a bit more convenient, and I'm so fed up with the older bras that are too big in the back, so the sooner I get some nice new ones, the better!! :D

there is a company called Bravissimo that do bigger sizes and afaik they deliver to Ireland - you can request a catalogue from their site:

    www.Bravissimo.com/Catalogue

I don't know their names, but there are 3 places (that I know of) that do larger cup sizes in Castlebar; one beside Pennys, one on Cavendish Lane and the lingerie department in Shaws. I'm larger myself (36G) so I know for sure that they do them sizes. However, I'm not a fan of white lacey bras and that's all they seem to have so I usually buy my bras on the internet or when I'm in Dublin. Hope this helped :)

That's where I had been getting them from, but since my size changed I'm finding a perfect fit very hard to get, and with a delivery charge of around 6.50 from their end, and 5 euro each time to send them back, delivery can run up so high that it isn't worth ordering them from there. That's what happened me recently :(

I think Bella Lusso is the one beside Penney's from what I can see online. You wouldn't happen to know the name of the other one by any chance, and maybe I could look it up? Its just I don't wanna be travelling to Castlebar to find out it was a major waste of time.
    Stupid huge boobs :(

EDIT: I emailed Shaw's and a G cup is the highest they go :(

Sadly they only do one bra in my size on the whole site, in black and in white and I already have both :(

I think the shop on Cavendish Lane is called Lou Marelle - have never been there but have been thinking about going there to get measured - have you had experience of being measured there? How did you find them?

Anytime I'm in Castlebar I'd call into both Bella Lusso & Lou Marelle. Find both good.

Only fault I'd have with Bella Lusso it that their stock levels vary significantly at different times. I'd recommend you call first & ask when they are getting their delivery of new season stock so you won't have a wasted journey. They also have good reductions for end of line stuff but rarely find it in my size.

I have to admit I prefer Lou Marelle abit, always find I come away with several items any time I visit whereas with Bella Lusso I've often only be able to get one or two sets in my size. I've been fitted in there a couple of times and must recommend that if you are getting fitted ask the lady who appears to be the owner to do it for you...she's the best of any of the 3 that have fitted me. She always appears to appreciate the business also & nothing is too much trouble.

Also, if you're ever in Galway, you should try Elegant Undies downstairs in the Eyre Square Shopping Centre - they carry a wide variety of labels & a newer shop CHANGE on Eglinton Street who stock their own label which comes at various price ranges and varieties (take a look on their website). The owners of both shops couldn't be more helpful.

Another thing, I've found that some labels suit me better than others, e.g. Freya so I've often both them off the Bravissimo website when I haven't time to get to Galway or Castlebar.

Sorry so long but was years searching for decent underwear in my size & since discovering these 4 shops, I've now got a great collection.

Sorry just remembered, debanhams also stock alot of larger sizes, as do M&S but I find the quality and support poor and the sizes very inconsistant.

Yeah I find that as well with M&S and Debenhams. They're handy if you just want them for very occasional wear, but other than that its not worth it.
Thanks for all your Galway info. I never thought Elegant Undies did large sizes, will take a look next time I'm in Galway :D

Sorry when you said to ask the lady who owns the place is that Lou Marelle or Bella Lusso? I need to get fitted for a decent strapless bra before heading off on to a wedding abroad in a few weeks.

    Thanks.

Definately Lou Marelle but make sure its the owner - she's the best of them in there IMO.

    Hi,

I think bella lusso is closed now? There is a new lingerie area opened above Faheys on Main Street in Castlebar. I was in there last week looking for a bra for a wedding. It is called Carino. It is easily missed as it is located above the old shop that was there. Girl in there seems very helpful and they seem to stock a good collection of brands.

    Has anyone been?

    Sar

I have tried ringing a contact number for it a few times since my original post and its rang out every time. I think you might be right :(
Fortunately, after my third return (stupid differently fitting bras...) I have now got 4 nice new bras from Bravissimo :) so all is well for now

Do you not find you need to try them on first? unless u ave tried the style before. You should check the Carino shop. They told me they would get anything in that I am looking 4. :) Sounded helpful and eager

Generally I'm the same size in most bras, but some I'm a bit smaller in the back or bigger in the cup so I can be unlucky, and with my size, the smaller in the back you go or the higher in the cup you go, the worse the choice of bras. I have the Panache Tango II bra in every colour and the same style!
I'm in Sligo at the moment and someone else had said to me about that particular shop, so thats why I was wondering about Bella Lusso. It does get annoying sending stuff over and back but when I finally get a perfectly fitting bra its great, and all the girls at Bravissimo are fantastic. The only thing is that I have to plan way ahead if I'm getting an outfit for a special occasion because I may need a certain bra, and there are no plunge bras in my size either from what I know :(
Men have it so easy

Was reading your posts online and have searched forever for nice colourful bras in bigger sizes! Like you, Im much narrower on the back and fuller in the cup but tried both lingerie shops you mentioned in Galway cause im factually from Galway! Didnt actuially know abgout either of these shops but so so delighted with elegant undies, fantastic selection of freya and fantasie in 32F, no more boring white bras for me and the girl couldnt be more helpful. Thanks so much for your help!
