I posted before http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=2055964321 on this same topic and after spending almost €400 on the problem, It still persists. Ihave 225/40 R18'S fitted. Im not well up on cars or how they work but somthing must be wrong when tyres are worn abnormally like this. When i was in audi the service manager said somthing to me about not being able to set the casters with 18" alloys on??

Are they cambered? Is the top of them pointed in towards the center of the car?

Had a set of 18" on my car when i bought it, had to change back to stock cos they were eating tyres. The outside looked grand but they were down to the wire on the inside.

Shouldn't be a problem if they are OE and all suspension etc is ok. My ZT has low profile 18s and the tyres are all down to 2 or 3mm thread, all 4 are worn very very evenly. I see from the pics in your other thread you have Nankangs, these are not great. Much better can be gotten for a similar price.

A friend has a 2001 TT that has worn the back tyres severely on the inside edge.

Where are you based? Someone might be able to recommend a good wheel alignment place. It would't be the first time that a dealer was not able to rectify tracking issues.

Depends on how they are worn.

If its on the inside then the camber is wrong .. usually means theres something worn in the suspension.

Could also be a buckled wheel or faulty tire (doubtful)

Try swapping the backs with the fronts, keep the direction of travel the same. ? Is there any vibration at all ?

Wheel tracking place should be able to diagnose.
