    Hi all,

I am a contractor, working 5 days a week for a daily rate since last October. Am I entitled to any paid holiday leave? I am sorting out all my own tax. Any other entitlements apart from holidays?

    Thanks!

If you are self employed, you are responsible for your own holiday leave arrangements. :(

If you are a contractor, then you are entitled to holiday pay from your employer. Your employer however is not the company you are working at, it is the one you are paid by. This is usually your own limited liability company. You should, therefore, put enough money aside to cover your holidays.

If you do or not is up to you (I don't) but the company that you are working at does not have a contract with you, therfore you cannot make a claim against them. That is the whole point of employing contractors. You are buying services rather than employing people.
