Feel like crap

I know it's nothing compared to some of the stuff on here, but I've just been left high and dry by my debs date... I had a backup girl (I know it's a ****ty thing to say) but she's now going with someone else. The girl I was meant to go with is my ex, we were going just as friends which was fine.
Then she texts me saying she's not allowed go... after a while of me telling her keep at her parents etc. it turns out she could go if she were willing to skip something that she's going to in England. The thing she's going to happens fairly often and she nearly always goes but she's still not willing to skip it just the once. I asked her about going 2 months ago so she had plenty of notice.
Again I know this is petty stuff compared to some people's problems but I was really looking forward to going out with all my friends the one last time (I'm moving away for college and I'll be on my own) and now I feel like absolute sh*te and above all I never thought my ex would be this selfish.

Just needed to vent really.

Still go - you will have a much better time on your own instead of having an ex hang out with you all night.

As to your backup - you are spot on - that was fairly sh1tty.

Just check around your mates and see who else is without a date - maybe see if you can meet up beforehand.
