When you go to a site which has a pop up ad for a poker/casino, can they pull your email address even if you do not email them. Went to such a site recently and popped down the pop up ad but now I am getting lots of poker/casino spam to an account that is never put on net never gets spam

Cannot recall what site it was but not porn etc and was a genuine site with genuine info but pop up poker/casino. Never play poker online either

    Is it co incidence?

I can't think of a way they could harvest your email. Worst they could do is launch a new email with their address filled in, but you'll still have to press "send".

It's unusual for any modern browser to allow ad popups without user intervention. In general, dodgy popup ads can be a symptom of some sort of malware infection.

If your e-mail address has already escaped into the wild then you can't undo that now but you should do a proper scan of your computer to see if there are any obvious infections.
