replace or re-enamel bath?

I have an old roll-top bath (I don't know if that's the name - the lip of the bath is rounded.) The interior is stained at the bottom so it looks green and dirty. It's an old iron bath.

There's a shower above the bath that we can't use because the water will leak, as the sealing is on the edge of the lip, ie below the top of the bath. There doesn't seem to be any way to make the thing waterproof but I love it!

    Any ideas?

-replace, forget the old-fashioned bath, it just isn't practical
-re-enamel it, and forget about trying to use the shower
-there's this brilliant solution you know
