    Hi all,

I graduated 2 years ago with a 1.1 degree in Business. I have a job however I been thinking about this a lot recently and I really want to go into Secondary School teaching.

However unfortunately I know that there is a quota on the number of business grads that can apply. I have 47 points so chances are I won't get in on the points system but would I have a shot at getting into trinity or the likes where they have a diff process to get in including an interview? Or am I wasting my time?? :(

Even if I did get in are there any jobs out there or is there still lots of unemployed business teachers out there?!

Any advice at all would be really appreciated, thanks :)

You could definitely get into Trinity as it's based on interview. But you'd have to do a great interview. You'd have to show experience working with young people and/or teaching. They also like any other talents or hobbies you have.

To be honest, employment prospects are bleak. You could try to get another subject by doing a night course, or learning Irish so you could teach in Gaelscoileanna.
