If you are returning to a degree having failed, Can you get a student grant if i fulfil the other criteria? e.g residency etc.

I don't think so:( I think if you have ever started (and not even completed) a course at the same level before, you will be ineligible. Its a crazy system.

The Higher Education Grants Scheme applies to you if you:

Have attended but not successfully completed an approved course and are returning following a break of at least 5 years in order to pursue an approved course at the same level in the academic year in question. In this instance, you will be considered a Second Chance Student

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

9000 a year? I'd say you probably would have to - best thing to do is ask the college
