    Hi Guys,

the c drive (160GB) on my pc gave up the ghost today and i have a good (500GB) ide drive from a external enclousure, but can i connect this to the sata cable in pc via a converter cable?

i could take out the cdrw and use its ide cable for the harddrive but would be lost without the cd drive to be honest.

anyone know of a reasonable / reliable way to connect ide to sata cable via a converter etc

    thanks
