Odd contents in Enchilada Kit

So we bought an Enchilada Kit in Tesco, and although the sub-contents of the box were sealed, inside the box was a lump of carbon, and lots of carbon dust...

We wiped the sachet/tortillas etc, but what could this be?

What do they use carbon for in the El Paso factory (which is in Rejkavik).
    Any ideas??

To line your underwear for the inevitable farts. Carbon will filter the smell.
