There is a really good pool and gym in Askeaton, its only 20 min out the road. It isn't always overly busy so there is plenty of machines available at any one time so no queuing. And there is really nice employees(I should know cause i'm one of them) Its €6.50 to use the gym or pool and €9.00 to use both.

We also offer visit cards which are roughly 30-40 quid depending on type of card and you get ten visits for it so it works out fairly cheap. We do 3, 6 and 12 month memberships also.

There isn't many centres in the city with pay as you go. You won't get that with any hotel pools anyway.

Def agree with that. I never used the facilities but have been there half a dozen times in the last 3 or 4 months due to work and the place is lovely. If I lived out that direction, I'd join in a shot.

Askeaton is 20mins from Caherdavin? In the Batmobile maybe?

ya when you use the tunnel. Its 20 min from the leisure centre to limerick city centre which would roughly be the same distance.

Actually, outside of peak traffic hours, 20 minutes from Caherdavin to Askeaton is a fairly reasonable estimate time via the new tunnel.

30 mins via the tunnel Insect overlord adhering to speed limits. I did the journey last night.
Couple that with the 3.60 it costs you to use the tunnel and petrol out to Askeaton it makes your visit to the pool expensive.
Plus if the times you use the pool are dictated by traffic peak times its hardly ideal

Using the tunnel at an off peak time at least would only save a short few minutes, otherwise just as quick to go out dock road I'd say.
