    Hi lads,

Just wondering what the story is with the recycling centre and PCs... I wanted to look for a soundcard in one of the old PCs. Am I allowed do this or am I relying on the goodwill of the guy running the centre?

    thanks.

I was thinking the same! But my local recyclers (Coolmine) didn't let me touch the PCs for some reason. :( Probably because I didn't try to bribe them. :P Personally I can't see why we shouldn't do this.

Maybe there's a data protection issue if they're to be wiped at the recyling plant where they end up, not before they've been removed.

You can buy any parts, drives, soundcards from electronic recycling finglas.
    see ww.electronicrecycling.ie,
its probably like if you lifted a pc,dropped it on your foot ,you could sue them.THEY are not insured for giving out pcs/parts to the public, i,d geuss.
