Hi, so basically there is a chance that i am going to be a father in a few months, except there is also another guy in the picture so we dont know yet who is the real father. I havent slept in about two weeks worrying over this.

I was hoping to get fertility tested, just to see if it is possible that it is mine. Im out of work at the moment so im on the medical card. Does anyone know if its possible to get one of these done in dublin.

    Any advice really appreciated, thanks

If you think you are going to be a father then a fertility test is not really necessary....do you mean a paternity test?

No fear of you needing a fertility test mate.

As Ickle said, its paternity. If it is your sprog than there is nothing wrong with your sperm. :D

I took it up that the OP is looking for have a fertility test done so that he can rule himself out as the father if there is an issue with the test??

    Bit of a long shot!

Not to mention rather futile as having motile sperm nor a low sperm count in no way rules him in or out as the father of the child in question...

You may as well close your eyes and wish really hard.

A paternity test. Speak to your GP about it and to point you in the right direction. Oh, and get some sleep!

Thanks for the replies. Yes i am doing it because maybe the test will say ive a very low sperm count and am problady not the father. Not foolproof but would take some of the weight off my shoulders. Ive myself half convinced at the moment.

One point to note, i heard the other guy takes drugs, coke and headshop drugs every weekend, or did until the ban came in a few days ago. Would this mean he would have a lower sperm count and that would mean an increased chance of me being the father??

Im not even working at the moment, im way too immature to be a dad, sheeeet!! The one i was with said she was on the injection contraception every three months.

But having a low sperm count compared to the average wouldn't necessarily mean you are probably not the father - never mind the probabilities required for you to have such a low sperm count/motility as to effect your impregnation skills. Just think about it; the other guy could have an even lower sperm count, the girl could have been much more fertile when you had sex with her, etc, etc...the only way to categorically rule out you being the father is via a paternity test when the child is born.

Plus fertility isnt static. You can be not so fertile one time and much more fertile another time.
